Hey fellow #Bones fans… can we chat a second? Remember at the end of season 2 when Hodgela didn’t get married, the first time? And the end of season 3, when Zack blew up his hands to help a cannabalistic serial killer? Or when Booth had a brain tumor, a coma, and asked Bones “Who are you?” at the end of season 4? Seriously, when was the last time Bones ended a season on a cloud near a rainbow with puppies licking our noses? And you know what you did the following season? You came back, you watched and you LOVED it. You STILL love this show. And I’m not much of a gambler, but I’m willing to bet all the shows in the world that next May, you’re still gonna be loving Bones.
So, can we give the pestering of our two favorite producers, who put this show together that we love in the midst of all the angst and drama and romance and crime-solving mystery a rest, and let them do what they’ve always done best? I love you fellow Bones fans, I really do. You make it okay for me to be a little over-obsessed with a television show. But when I see some of you harassing @harthanson and @squarechicken on Twitter, it makes me wonder why we run in the same crowd. These are the guys who caused your obsession. Love them for it. Praise them for it. And leave the tomatoes at home… unless you intend to cook something delicious for them, versus throwing those tomatoes in their direction.
I get your frustration, I really do. I’m not thrilled with Special Agent Seeley Booth having eyes for anyone but Dr. Temperance Brennan. And I’m pretty sure THAT’S THE POINT. It creates this thing the TV networks and Shakespeare dubbed “drama” so that there’s a continuous story to tell. Cause even though I want B&B together with all of my ‘shipping heart, there will come a time when the story left to tell isn’t all that new and interesting, and when that comes, no more Bones. That’s right kids… someday, Bones won’t be on your TV anymore. So stop trying to rush the only TV show I really care to watch each week off the air. Puh. Lease. And remember, HH & SN are people too. Let’s treat them like people… those awesome people who write this awesome show we love. Okay? Thanks. Love, Jena.
